Privacy Policy
How GastroLab India Private Limited collects, uses and protects personal data on gastrolab.com. This policy is published under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 together with the rules made under it.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who we are
GastroLab India Private Limited (“GastroLab”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated in India with its registered office at Office No. A 202, 2nd Floor, Speciality Business Centre, Balewadi Road, Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra 411045, India, operates this website. We import and distribute in-vitro diagnostic products to healthcare professionals, hospitals and laboratories. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below, and you are the Data Principal.
2. The personal data we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us. We do not buy personal data, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
- Enquiry details — the name, institution, city, professional role, email address, telephone number and message you submit through a form on this site.
- Correspondence — emails, WhatsApp messages and call notes arising from your enquiry.
- Server logs — our hosting provider records the IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamp of each request, as web servers ordinarily do, for security and reliability.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, health information about yourself or any identified patient. This site is not a channel for patient records, test results or clinical queries about a named individual.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your enquiry details for one purpose: to respond to you and to carry on the business conversation you started — sending product documentation, arranging an evaluation, quoting, and servicing an account. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we rely on the consent you give when you submit a form, for that specified purpose.
Your details are recorded in our customer relationship management system so the conversation is not lost between people. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making. We may send you information about products related to your enquiry; every such message carries a way to opt out, and you may withdraw consent at any time (see clause 7).
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to serve the pages and keep the site secure. These are always on, because the site cannot work without them.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how this site is used — which pages are read, how visitors arrive. These are not essential, and we do not set them unless you agree. When you first visit, a notice asks whether you accept analytics cookies; nothing analytics-related loads until you choose. IP addresses are anonymised. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies and site data in your browser, which restores the choice.
We set no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share this data for advertising.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with:
- service providers who operate our website hosting, email and CRM systems under contract, and who may process the data only on our instructions;
- our professional advisers, where required; and
- government authorities, courts or regulators where disclosure is required by Indian law — including reporting obligations under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017.
Where a provider stores data outside India, we take steps to ensure the transfer is permitted under applicable Indian law and that the data remains protected to the standard set out in this policy.
6. Security and how long we keep it
We follow reasonable security practices and procedures as required by section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 — access to enquiry data is restricted to the employees who need it, systems are password-protected, and transmission of this site is encrypted.
We keep enquiry data for as long as the business relationship or a live enquiry continues, and thereafter only for as long as we are required to keep it for legal, tax or regulatory purposes. When the purpose is served and no legal requirement applies, we erase it.
7. Your rights
As a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
- ask us to correct, complete or update inaccurate data;
- ask us to erase your data, where we are not required to retain it;
- withdraw your consent at any time — as easily as you gave it;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with us, and escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.
To exercise any of these, write to info@gastrolab.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand.
8. Children
This website is intended for healthcare professionals and for adults seeking general information about digestive health. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of a child, and we do not track, profile or direct advertising at children. A parent or lawful guardian who believes a child has submitted data to us should write to info@gastrolab.com and we will erase it.
