Colorectal & GI inflammation
ColonView
A FIT-based faecal occult blood test built for colorectal-cancer screening programmes.
Clinical use
Screens for lower-GI pathologies — colorectal cancers and bleeding adenomas — with no diet restriction and human-specific detection, unlike guaiac FOBT.
Highlights
- Specific to human haemoglobin — no diet prep. The IFU shows no interference from horseradish peroxidase up to 20 mg/ml or from dietary iron up to 2 mg/ml, the very things that confound guaiac tests
- Qualitative immunochromatographic test — manual or semi-automated, built for screening throughput
- Clinical sensitivity 97.3% for adenoma and carcinoma together, and 100% for carcinoma (IFU §10, n=300, colonoscopy-verified)
