Pancreatic health

The pancreas makes enzymes that digest food. When it under-performs, food isn't absorbed properly — a treatable problem once it's found.

Signs to watch for

  • Pale, oily, hard-to-flush stools
  • Weight loss despite eating
  • Bloating and discomfort after meals
  • Known pancreatitis or diabetes

If symptoms are severe or persistent — or you notice bleeding or weight loss — see a doctor promptly.

Why a test helps

A simple stool test measures a pancreatic enzyme (elastase), showing whether the pancreas is doing its digestive job.
